Recent celebrations took place for the Golden Wedding Anniversary (50 years) of Arthur and Betty Hall, and the Diamond Wedding Anniversary (60 years) of John and Brenda Westripp.
Here Jennifer presents Arthur and Betty (sitting either side of granddaughter Tabatha) with flowers. They married on 4 March 1967. Harold Wilson was Prime Minister, England held the World Cup, and the 3 channels of TV broadcasts were all in black-and-white
John and Brenda also received flowers, supervised by Rev Julia. They married on 9 March 1957, with Harold MacMillan as PM, Dwight D Eisenhower recently re-elected as US President and 'Young Love' sung by Tab Hunter enjoying a 7-week spell at the top of the UK charts
The church looked splendid for the occasion, and the two couples shared a gold and silver cake produced for the occasion by Lesley Hyde
